Sierra View Senior Living

OCTOBER 2024 NEWSLETTER

Dear Residents and Families,

Fall is upon us, and with it comes the beauty of changing leaves, crisp autumn air, and the warm feeling of gathering together. Here at Sierra View Senior Living, October is a month full of joy, reflection, and community. We have many wonderful events planned, and we can’t wait to enjoy this season with all of you.

Remembering Our Dear Friend Jean

Before we share the upcoming events, we want to take a moment to honor our beloved friend, Jean, who passed away recently. Jean brought so much light and laughter to our community. Her presence warmed our hearts, and her kindness and grace touched us all. We will cherish the memories we shared with her and hold her family and friends  close in our thoughts. Jean will always be remembered here at Sierra View, as we continue to live out the joy and love she so effortlessly shared.

Monthly Highlights:

Happy Hour (October 4th): Join in for Fall Cafe Wine and Cookies on Friday afternoon. We are starting out with an enjoyable fall themed experience, sure to delight everyone.

Oktoberfest Celebration (October 8th): Our halls will come alive with music and joy as we celebrate Oktoberfest! Antonio the violinist will bring the spirit of the season to life. Grab a friend, enjoy the music, and join us in celebrating this fun tradition.

Birthday Celebrations (October 16th): This month, we’ll gather together for a special birthday lunch to honor our October babies—BobG and Bob A, Carole, Nicole, Luke, Kelsey, and Dylan. Let’s make sure their day is full of love, laughter, and delicious treats!

Fall Colors Scenic Drive (October 25th): What better way to embrace the season than a drive through the beautiful fall foliage? Join us as we take in the stunning colors of autumn—bring a cozy sweater and your love for nature. Sign up for this morning outing with Francesca.

Halloween Festivities (October 31st): Our Halloween celebration is sure to be a spooktacular time! Dress in your favorite costume, enjoy a bit of trick-or-treating, and dance your way into a fun-filled evening. Let’s make it a night to remember!

Weekly Fun & Activities:

Walking Club Adventures: Take in the sights and sounds of fall with our Walking Club! Whether it’s a walk around the Lions Lake at the fairgrounds or a stroll through Condon Park, there’s no better way to enjoy the season than by getting outside and moving together.

Bingo Fun: Our favorite game is back in full swing this month! Join us on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays instead of Saturday for bingo, laughter, and plenty of chances to win prizes. A little friendly competition never hurt anyone! Note: Due to Bridget leaving mid-month our calendar will be changing to meet the new schedule.

Creative Crafting & Music: October is packed with creative activities to inspire and delight! From making leaf suncatchers to decorating Halloween masks, you’ll find plenty of ways to express yourself. And don’t miss our live music events, including an uplifting Oktoberfest music and Celtic Music.

Special Events & Outings:

Trips & Treats: Join us for a fun shopping adventure at the Dollar Store on October 3rd to get ready for Halloween, or come along for our scenic drive on October 25th. These outings are a wonderful way to connect, explore, and make new memories together.

Game Days & Socials: Whether it’s trivia, card games, or table games, we have plenty of social opportunities to bring everyone together. Our “Game Night” on October 25th is a great chance to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones.

Heartwarming Gatherings: From cozy coffee chats in the mornings to the relaxed “Paint & Sip” on October 16th in the  afternoon, there’s always something happening to bring us closer and share in good company.

Sports & Sunday Football: Sundays are for relaxation and excitement as we gather for the weekly NFL games. There’s nothing like cheering for your favorite team with friends, enjoying the game, and sharing in the fun!

A Cozy, Connected October

As we move through this season of change, we encourage everyone to take part in the activities and make the most of the time we spend together. Whether you’re looking to try something new, enjoy good music, or simply savor the joy of connection, there’s something for everyone this month. Let’s make this October warm, memorable, and full of community spirit.

With love and warmth,

Sierra View Senior Living
